What TranscriptClip collects, why, and how long we keep it.
Last updated: 2026-10-03
Summary
We collect as little as we can. We process a video's audio only to make your transcript, and we never store the original video.
What we collect
- Links you submit — the video link, so we can fetch its audio and return the transcript.
- Transcripts — the text we generate, so we can show it to you.
- Account information — if you sign in with Google: your name, email address and profile picture.
- Purchase records — what you bought and when. Card details are handled by our payment provider; we never see or store full card numbers.
- Usage data — basic events (for example: link pasted, transcript succeeded or failed, file exported) and device/browser type, to keep the service working and improve it.
- Cookies and local storage — to keep you signed in and to count today's free transcripts.
What we do not keep
- Original videos. Audio is processed temporarily to create the transcript and is then deleted.
- We do not sell your personal information.
How we use data
- To provide transcripts and exports.
- To manage your account, credits and purchases.
- To prevent abuse of the free plan and keep the service secure.
- To understand which features work and fix problems.
Who we share data with
Only service providers that help us run TranscriptClip — hosting, speech-to-text processing, payments, email and analytics — under their own privacy and security terms, or when required by law.
Retention
Account and purchase records are kept while your account is active and as required for tax and accounting. You can ask us to delete your account and data at any time.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, export or delete your data. Contact us and we will respond within 30 days.
